We need at least the console trace captured with DebugView as explained here : https://www.digikam.org/contribute/ *** Bug 443484 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I installed Windows 11 in a Virtualbox on Linux. I had to bypass the TPM check with a registry entry during the installation. I was able to install our current developer version of digiKam-7.4.0 from http://files.kde.org/digikam and run the setup. The binary files were downloaded correctly. Adding a network collection also works. A short test shows no problems, digiKam works here under Windows 11 without any problems. Maik The official digiKam-7.3.0 version also works here under Windows 11 without any problems. A DebugView Log with activated Debug environment variable is therefore required as requested in Comment 1 by Gilles, since we cannot reproduce the problem. Before you test the developer version digiKam-7.4.0, make a backup of the database, as a database update is being carried out. All programs run under Windows 11 BUT NOT digikam 7.4.0 I then downloaded digikam again and reinstalled but: after clicking on the button, a small blue circle rotates, but after about 7 seconds it goes out , nothing else happens. digikam does not open. A great program. Much better than Photoshop Organizer. It often crashes, is slow and inflexible. If you learn that digikam works on Windows 11, I would be happy to hear from you. Have a good evening. Then again let the automatic installation set up Windows 11 (several hours).... and now, digikam 7.5.0 is installed on my Windows 11,- automatically taken over- but when I want to start it, the blue circle rotates about 10 seconds, otherwise nothing happens. Now I have to go back to Windows 10. Strange, all other programs were taken over without problems and run perfectly. When I went back to Windows 10 twice before, digikam also opened immediately without a problem. I guess I have no choice but to stay with Windows 10. Too bad. I see in your signature that you are using "Avast Antivirus Software". I would uninstall these. The Microsoft Defender is included in Windows 10, this is not the yellow of the egg either, but in many tests by computer magazines the Defender shows better detection than some paid antivirus solutions. From my daily practice I can say that Avast likes to "block" something and makes the system much slower. An AMD CPU or GPU will not be the cause here. I already see in many forums that digiKam is used on Windows 11. It must be related to your installation. Maik is right here. It's possible this AV block digikam.exe for an ...unknown reason... Please check first if AVAST report an error somewhere in logs. Also, disabling the AV to check if the application is blocked is the right way to do. Note : digiKam do not include a virus, it safe. It's not compiled under Windows, but on Linux for this security reason (it's my personal computer (:=))). And doing an extra restart every time is certainly not the solution. I'll leave it installed, switch to Windows 11 and then work with Adobe Elements Organizer. (I don't like it that much, but it works). I will always try digiKam in between. If you find a solution, I'd love to hear from you. I gave my PC a new M.2 SSD NVME and reinstalled Windows 11 there. From the ISO. No upgrade, not cloned. However, I then had to reinstall all my programs, including digikam. But with what success. Great. by the new SSD everything runs faster and much more stable (possibly also by WIN 11). So it was not digikam, but somewhere on my PC. One thing though I can't get right in digikam: Find duplicates . Even if I have intentionally copied and pasted a picture (with a different file name) I don't get any duplicates. Do I have to search for all fingerprints first? But that takes a very, very long time, even with a few hundred images. Can you tell me how to do that?
