Thank you for the bug report. Unfortunately we were not able to get to it yet. Can we ask you to please check if this is still an issue with Dolphin 25.12.0. (In reply to aristsakas from comment #1) > Thank you for the bug report. Unfortunately we were not able to get to it > yet. Can we ask you to please check if this is still an issue with Dolphin > 25.12.0. I sadly do not have the files anymore so I would close this issue, unless you want it to stay open for tracking purposes. But I do have some CJK text files, that do not display properly in dolphin's preview. I've attached the file and a screenshot of the preview. Regards Created attachment 188063 [details]

I managed to recreate the issue by copying from my original attachment. Yes, the issue still persists, I've attached the file. The file cannot be renamed by dolphin, because 'the file does not exist'. I cannot attach the file, because Firefox complains about invalid encoding. So if you want to try yourself, simply run touch ''$'\343' The file cannot be copied, moved or altered in dolphin. thank you for the feedback. I am reopening the bug |
Created attachment 142253 [details] A text file containing the file names as seen in different applications SUMMARY A few months ago I downloaded multiple TrueAudio files. After going through the folders I've noticed that Dolphin has problems correctly showing the name of multiple files. Text file with the file names is attached below. 'ls' in the terminal will show (at least partly) the correct symbols. I also tested with the cinnamon file explorer, which shows similar results to 'ls' STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open a folder containing such file as described above 2. look at the file name OBSERVED RESULT The file names are gibberish symbols, instead of japanese characters EXPECTED RESULT Dolphin showing the correct symbols/characters SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.10.70-lts KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2
