Can you check if going to Settings > Performances > Instant preview and uncheck "Use in-stack preview in Transform Tool" restores your transform tool performances? If it is the case, it's because Krita5 by default do transformation directly in the layer stack with taking into account the blending modes and all. I made this report to wish to get this setting on the "Tool Option", so it is easier to activate and desactivate: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442558 Thank you, this is it!
