The reason is not a "new" Google API. Google would like to have access to a billing account - credit card, in order to be able to invoice the costs if the monthly free map volume is exceeded. Unfortunately, Google does not accept our PayPal account. We are not ready to provide our private credit cards. For me, Google Maps is dead, we're considering trying Bing Maps. Maik *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 433732 *** Hi Maik, Bing Maps would be great. I hope it comes with the next digiKam upgrade?! Ludger Hi all and happy new year, The digiKam 8.3.0 pre-release support the GoogleMaps API key to remove the "For Developement Only" overlay over the map canvas. The Google API key can be set on the new Setup Geolocation view : https://i.imgur.com/ZsJ0VCn.png 8.3.0 pre-release bundles can be downloaded here : https://files.kde.org/digikam/ Thanks in advance for your feedback Best regards Gilles Caulier Fixed with bug 433732 |
