SUMMARY
When I launch nvidia-settings, Night Color on my external screen becomes inactive, although the status icon shows that it is active.
To enable it back again I have to disable and enable it by clicking twice on the status icon.


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable Night Color in System Settings
2. Run nvidia-settings

OBSERVED RESULT
Night Color is becomes inactive

EXPECTED RESULT
Night Color keeps active

Nvidia-settings contains it's own colour correction. It will fight with anything active. There is not much we can do

Why this doesn't happen with the internal laptop screen then?

There is inconsistency between behaviour on laptop's internal screen and external screen:
- On internal screen the Night Color stays active
- On external screen the Night Color becomes inactive

Moreover, the Night Color status icon in the tray doesn't change the state when the Night Color becomes inactive. This can be misleading.
