SUMMARY
Hello,

The dialogs "Edit Metadata" --> "Edit IPTC"/"Edit XMP" --> "Properties"
have a field called Attribute, which has the following 22 entries:
- 001 Current
- 002 Analysis
- 003 Archive
...
- 022 Press Release

As far as I know these entries are the Genre-Codes defined by IPTC organisation.

(1) Would it be better to call the field "Genre" instead of "Attribute".
(2) The current IPTC list at http://cv.iptc.org/newscodes/genre contains 47 elements, but digiKam has only 22.

Best regards
herb

The German translation (Redaktionelle Beschreibung) is perfectly fine. Here the translators have definitely looked at the "Whats This" description. I guess you are a German user? Well, with ExifTool the tag has little to do with genre and is called there: Object Attribute Reference.
Many of the missing attributes were only added to the standard in 2020.
