As the developers of digiKam, we don't do the translation. Since I speak German natively, I plan to take part in improving the German translation when the translator has moved to the git version management system. The addition of contextual information last is also one reason why the current translation is very sketchy. But in the future it can improve the translation. German translators in particular are always looking for help, as a translator you don't have to be a programmer. Any help is welcome. I'm moving your bug report to the right people. SUMMARY Hello, digiKam (with English GUI) uses - on the right side of the main window .. Captions: to edit/assign Description and Tags ... in Description we can assign PickUp-Labels, Color-Labels and Ratings ... in Tags we can assign keywords and/or person-keywords - on left side of the main window .. Tags: all keywords including person(-keywords) .. Labels: Ratings, Pickup-Labels and Color-Labels The corresponding German Translation uses - on the right side of the main window .. Beschriftungen (for Captions) with Beschreibung (for Description) and Stichwörter (for Tags) ... in Beschreibung we have Auswahlmarkierung for PickUp-Labels Farbmarkierung for Color-Labels I fully agree to this translation. But German translation uses - on the left side of the main window .. Stichwörter (for Tags) .. Beschriftungen (for Labels) For me this "Beschriftungen" (for Labels) should/must be "Markierungen" (as used on the right main window side: e.g. Auswahlmarkierung). As a consequence some other string are to be updated: e.g.: - menu Durchsuchen Beschriftungen will become Markierungen Markierungen - context menu of a selected item: Beschriftungen zuweisen will become Markierungen zuweisen Thanks in advance and best regards herb STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. 2. 3.
