I had a copy of 3.5.0 for Mac, and that was able to connect. Also, I noticed that Indi moved to "V3" drivers, so I tried upgrading my mount and hand controller firmware with the latest packages. That unfortunately did not allow Kstars 3.5.2 to connect. Baud rate set to 115200? 9600, just confirmed that’s what the connection tab is set to. Any update on this issue? I just tried again. Out of many retries, I was able to get connected once, but there were all kinds of strange errors and it was unusable. I did manage to get it to slew, but it took several seconds then I couldn't stop it. This attempt did start at 115.2k: 2021-03-23T22:29:05: [INFO] iOptron CEM40 is offline. 2021-03-23T22:29:05: [ERROR] Serial read error: Timeout error. 2021-03-23T22:29:01: [ERROR] Serial read error: Timeout error. 2021-03-23T22:28:45: [ERROR] Serial read error: Timeout error. 2021-03-23T22:28:41: [ERROR] Serial read error: Timeout error. 2021-03-23T22:28:38: [ERROR] Failed to set longitude. 2021-03-23T22:28:38: [ERROR] Serial read error: Timeout error. 2021-03-23T22:28:35: [ERROR] Error setting local time. 2021-03-23T22:28:35: [ERROR] Serial read error: Timeout error. 2021-03-23T22:28:32: [INFO] Device configurat2021-03-23T22:28:49: [ERROR] Serial read error: Timeout error. ion saved. 2021-03-23T22:28:57: [ERROR] Serial read error: Timeout error. 2021-03-23T22:28:32: [INFO] Saving device configuration... 2021-03-23T22:28:32: [INFO] Device configur2021-03-23T22:28:53: [ERROR] Serial read error: Timeout error. ation saved. 2021-03-23T22:28:32: [INFO] Saving device configuration... 2021-03-23T22:28:32: [ERROR] Serial read error: Timeout error. 2021-03-23T22:28:29: [ERROR] Serial read error: Timeout error. 2021-03-23T22:28:26: [INFO] Mount is unparked. 2021-03-23T22:28:26: [INFO] InitPark: No Park data in file /Users/brettnordby/.indi/ParkData.xml: No park data found for this device 2021-03-23T22:28:26: [INFO] Mount Longitude 242.366 Latitude -88.7647 2021-03-23T22:28:26: [ERROR] Serial read error: Timeout error. 2021-03-23T22:28:23: [INFO] iOptron CEM40 is online. 2021-03-23T22:21:30: [INFO] Scan complete. Found 4 port(s). Again, this works fine with KStars 3.5.0. Much to my chagrin, this started working. I'm not sure why. I did reinstall KStars on the Mac, and built a new Ubuntu VM on the Mac... but StellarMate is in the same state as it was when I was out in the field having connection failures. Suddenly, it connects just fine. I did reboot the Mac for another reason, but that's probably not it. I have no idea. To verify this works under multiple configurations, I tried three different machines, three different USB 2 cables (all ~6ft), direct connections and those through the Pocket Power Box Advance, with and without cameras/efw/etc and they all work. At this point after all this troubleshooting, I'm not sure what happened. Sorry about this. |
