SUMMARY
Simply put, having preferred://filemanager as a Kickoff favourite... causes it to not show up in Favourites.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Manually add preferred://filemanager somehow to Kickoff's favourites via configuration changing
2. Open Kickoff with those changes set

OBSERVED RESULT
preferred://filemanager isn't displayed there

EXPECTED RESULT
The default file manager displays in Favourites

Yeah I think only the Task Manager can handle these.

Weird, given it can handle preferred://browser just fine.

Looks like we do try to handle preferred:// as a URL scheme in kastatsfavoritesmodel.cpp so it's not that support is totally broken, as you've observed.

Actually I cannot reproduce this issue now that I test it. I can get it to appear in the Kickoff favorites list just fine. Can you re-test with the current state of git master?
