I would love this fix this, but I would need some backtrace at least. Sure. Do you happen to know how to make the Flatpak version of Kate produce a core dump or make it drop to GDB when this assert is broken? It does not seem to happen frequently, I haven't been able to reproduce it yet. I must confess, my knowledge about the runtime of Flatpak is close to zero. Perhaps the normal core dump limits apply to them? (and I think on modern systems, the systemd service for core dumps must be configured right) Ok, I'll look at it and come back to you if I ever get "so lucky" that I succeed in reproducing the bug and have a dump.
