The step size is already configurable for volume. With 5.27.7, If I use my laptop touchpad scroll edges it increases/decreases by a step of 1, but with an external mouse wheel it's still using a step equals to 5. Yes, that's intentional, because with a touch scroll you get finer control. I think it's also unrelated to what this bug report is about. When holding shift while scrolling, step size is 1 % in Plasma 6 (In reply to t.soernes from comment #4) > When holding shift while scrolling, step size is 1 % in Plasma 6 shift+scrolling was added for sound, not brightness! Created attachment 168875 [details] attachment-756527-0.html No it works for brightness too. Hold the shift button and scroll the night light widget / plasmoid. Brightness adjusts in 1% steps in Plasma 6. If it was also added for brightness, then it's half broken. I'm on Plasma 6.0.4 and holding shift while scrolling brightness widget icon doesn't increase/decrease brightness by 1%. But when you click on brightness widget, and it opens then you move the mouse pointer over the brightness slider, and you hold shift while scrolling it seems to increase/decrease by 1% in that case. Operating System: Manjaro Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.1.0 Qt Version: 6.7.0 Kernel Version: 6.8.7-1-MANJARO (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland *** Bug 490274 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Shift+brightness keys works too. I didn't know that was a thing. The Shift+Brightness shortcuts don't work on new HP laptops, it appears that Shift+Brightness combo is interpreted as Shift+Function-key, for example as Shift+F3. This happens whether Fn Lock is on or not. IMO, it would help if there was a "Brightness change step" setting like there is a "Volume change step" setting in Sound > Volume Controls. *** Bug 495066 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 501848 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** |
