Yeah this is a known issue. :( Having "Apply effects to inactive windows" unchecked for the color scheme Breeze Light seems to do nothing. Why? Being able to disable color effects to inactive windows would at least provide a workaround for this bug, plus some people (such as myself) prefer no color effects to be applied to inactive windows. That's because it's not implemented as an inactive window effect. If you prefer no color differences between focus active and inactive windows, you can change the color scheme's active and inactive header colors to be the exact same. Same as setting the active and inactive titlebar colors to be the same with a color scheme that doesn't have Header colors, like old Breeze. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 433569 *** Ah, great. Thanks! When I had a look just now for the active/inactive header color settings I couldn't find them. Under "color set" -> "header" there are the normal and alternate background colors but they don't affect the active/inactive change under discussion. What am I missing? Hmm, they should. But that would be a separate issue. :) It sort of works. I saved a copy of Breeze Light and changed the normal/alternate header colors which at first worked. Then with some fiddling of colors, unfocused windows started showing the original Breeze Light alternate header color that nowhere to be found in the GUI and was not what I had set. (I also changed window alternate.) Then it stopped showing the titlebar color I had set and was instead using the window background color. I suppose I should file a separate report about this. Question: My current color scheme has a different color set for normal/alternate header, but it seems not to do anything. Is there something special about Breeze Light that's not exposed in the GUI? I suppose the sections [Colors:Header] and [Colors:Header][Inactive] are new to Breeze Light. Why aren't those added to older schemes when you change the header settings in the GUI? Sorry, nevermind! They are added but they don't have any effect. In Plasma 5.21, when a color scheme has Header colors in it, its Active/Inactive Titlebar Background colors are ignored, and the Header colors are used to create a unified look for the window's entire header area. So for your older custom color scheme, you would adjust the Active/Inactive Titlebar background colors, not the header colors. |
