After I adden an avatar error was gone Cannot reproduce. I can replicate this on 5.20.2. Output in konsole when run from there: org.kde.kcm_users: "org.freedesktop.Accounts.Error.Failed" "file '/home/justin/.face' is not a regular file" file:///usr/lib64/qt5/qml/org/kde/kirigami.2/templates/InlineMessage.qml:262:9: QML ActionToolBar: Binding loop detected for property "atBottom" file:///usr/lib64/qt5/qml/org/kde/kirigami.2/templates/InlineMessage.qml:262:9: QML ActionToolBar: Binding loop detected for property "atBottom" (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #2) > Cannot reproduce. just delete .face file in your home directory and test it again Ouch. Thanks for finding the key to reproducing it. Seems to be an Accounts Service issue. Opened an upstream issue at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/accountsservice/accountsservice/-/issues/94. Re-opening to see if there's anything we can do to work around the issue, since there doesn't seem to be any movement on the upstream bug. >Seems to be an Accounts Service issue.
In any case, I cannot reproduce this following the steps provided.
DBus shows I call SetEmail and SetRealName explicitly and they apply.
Jan, can you confirm what makes you assert that it is an upstream issue?

Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone! I testet it right now. 1. I created new useraccount -> works as expected 2. Reopen Systemsettings and try to change and save user name -> error (screenshot: user_error.png) 3. Assing an awatar for new account and save it again. 4. Renaming works as expected (screenshot: user_error2.png) (In reply to Bug Janitor Service from comment #9) > Dear Bug Submitter, > > This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least > 15 days.
