Kdenlive crashes whenever creating a new project, unless the project is created on top of a project already open. Then it works fine.

Please try these steps: https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manual/Windows_Issues#Cannot_open_projects_made_with_previous_version.2C_timeline_snaps_back.2C_cannot_import_clip.

If it doesn't solve the issue let me know the steps you do for the crash.

The audioclientcore.cpp error could be a microphone or webcam restriction in Kaspersky antivirus or other antivirus programs. Please check your antivirus settings.

Do you are on windows 8?
Comment 7 joonatan.rinne 2020-11-28 15:56:58 UTC
I'm on Windows 10.
Comment 8 joonatan.rinne 2020-11-28 16:28:09 UTC
Also, I don't have Kaspersky or any other antivirus programs, just Windows Security.
Comment 9 emohr 2020-11-28 17:33:02 UTC
Can you start Kdenlive? If so -> CTRL+Shift+, (coma) -> Playback -> Audio driver -> try Wasapi or DirectSound (or WINMM for Win7).
Comment 10 joonatan.rinne 2020-11-28 17:47:14 UTC
I can start it, and edit settings, but it crashes as soon as I create a new project. Changing to Directsound or Wasapi didn't help.
Comment 11 joonatan.rinne 2020-11-28 17:53:08 UTC
But with WinMM, it doesn't crash anymore!
Comment 12 emohr 2020-11-28 18:32:36 UTC
Interesting.
Adding clip to the timeline and playback is still fluent when you set to WinMM?
What CPU and sound card/processor do you have?

Can you please provide the information requested above? Please test also if this still occurs with the latest version (20.12.3 at the moment, https://kdenlive.org/en/download/)
