Is this a regression compared to the Plasma 5.19 applet? (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > Is this a regression compared to the Plasma 5.19 applet? no Phew, I didn't break it. :) Still, seems important to fix. Confirmed. *** Bug 399073 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** This appears to be a distro/hardware/user configuration issue. See https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Optical_disc_drive#Disc_tray_autocloses I can reproduce this issue on my hardware in the KDE Neon live session, but running `sysctl -w dev.cdrom.autoclose=0` fixes the issue. The correct solution would appear to ask distros to set this, if appropriate, or figure out why it's not already set. Filed Bug 429667 for Neon. I have already added "dev.cdrom.autoclose = 0" to my /etc/sysctl.d/60-cdrom-autoclose.conf file as workaround to bug 398465, but the bug described here persists. "Disks & Devices" offers no way to eject a unmounted optical disc. The disc is ejected as expected when I press the button of my optical device. Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.76.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Still, the issue cannot be in the Disks & Devices applet. The issue is deeper, either in Solid (bug 398465), systemd, the device firmware, etc. But there's nothing the applet can do to work around those issues. I guess we can mark this as a duplicate of bug 398465. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 398465 *** |
