I don't think there has been a code change here. You have to change the sort order for the grouped (category) entries. Maik Created attachment 131707 [details]
Sort order
The change came with DigiKam 7.0. Attached is a picture with a Main and Sub Folder and the sort, which I have done. If you have found my mistake, pleas contact me. I want to use DigiKam 7.x and not continue with 6.4. Created attachment 131709 [details]

There was no change, you changed the option in the screenshot.
