I agree, but IMO this should be a global setting. Right now the number of recent items is pretty random across all the different bits of KDE software that include this feature. macOS has a global setting and you can choose between 0, 5, 10, and either 15 or 20 (IIRC). Then it affects all history items throughout the OS and all apps. The "0" value then becomes way to have the system not remember recent documents at all. It's pretty nice.
