SUMMARY
Most linux file browsers have a one click no fuss approach to remove the usb
Here it is the same fuss as Windows.  I need to right click and use safely remove.  Then if I have the directory open in Dolphin I have to close that directory.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Plug in usb try to remove without right clicking :)
2. Look for an eject (Unmount button like in other distros)  cannot find it
3.

not present 

EXPECTED RESULT
wish to have icon on right side of the usb listing

nautilus implementation

Here is an implementation.. just press the eject button and pull out.  No futzing around.

Thank you for your report. This is quite an old wish - in fact, it dates back to 2007. That being said, in FOSS projects and KDE especially people work on what they want, so one will have to wait and hope ;)
