If changes are to be recognized by digiKam at runtime, the option can be activated in the digiKam settings under collections to monitor albums for external changes. I advise against it for various reasons, but it works. Otherwise, new thumbnails can be created in the album with "F5". Maik Created attachment 127949 [details] attachment-15222-0.html Maik, Thanks for the quick response. Is it possible for Digikam to automatically refresh the thumbnails for the file that was just edited in the external editor? No need to refresh entire library, just the single file. ________________________________ From: Maik Qualmann <bugzilla_noreply@kde.org> Sent: Tuesday, April 28, 2020 10:56 AM To: craiggc@live.com <craiggc@live.com> Subject: [digikam] [Bug 420704] External Editor changes not reflected in Digikam thumbnail https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420704 Maik Qualmann <metzpinguin@gmail.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |metzpinguin@gmail.com --- Comment #1 from Maik Qualmann <metzpinguin@gmail.com> --- If changes are to be recognized by digiKam at runtime, the option can be activated in the digiKam settings under collections to monitor albums for external changes. The "F5" key definitely works, but only in the physical album view. Maik Created attachment 127988 [details] attachment-14111-0.html You are correct but I use Tag view and it doesn't work. ________________________________ From: Maik Qualmann <bugzilla_noreply@kde.org> Sent: Tuesday, April 28, 2020 4:49 PM To: craiggc@live.com <craiggc@live.com> Subject: [digikam] [Bug 420704] External Editor changes not reflected in Digikam thumbnail https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420704 --- Comment #4 from Maik Qualmann <metzpinguin@gmail.com> --- The "F5" key definitely works, but only in the physical album view. Maik -- You are receiving this mail because: You reported the bug. In digiKam-7.0.0-rc we have a new option under Tools "Scan for new Items". This also works if you have a search view open. I close the bug. Maik |
