Thanks for your report! I tried with latest version (21.12.1) and in my tests the composition always adjusts to the length of the overlap if the overlap is longer than the default transition duration, but not if the overlap is shorter. This seems to be indeed wrong. I cannot reproduce anymore with current git. Can you please test again and if still here, explain how you add the transition (through context menu, drag or clicking on clip's hotspot) Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days.
