There are some pending digikam.exe processes running in background (as defunc) ?

If yes, force to kill these items, and try again...

I do not believe. The problem occurs immediately, at the first installation.
Even after a restart, the program does not start.
O meglòio nothing appears but remains running

Please download DebugView from Microsoft and start it. Now start digiKam. Please post the output that appears in DebugView.

Comment 7 Maik Qualmann 2020-02-01 19:33:13 UTC
Hmm, neither of these two messages comes from digiKam. It almost seems as if digiKam is not started at all. Do you have an anti-virus program that prevents the start?

Please try the current digiKam-7.0.0-Beta3 from this location:

https://files.kde.org/digikam/

For a 64-bit system this would be the right setup file:

https://files.kde.org/digikam/digiKam-7.0.0-beta3-20200130T155449-Win64.exe

digiKam 7.2.0 official release is published with more than 360 files closed from bugzilla:

https://www.digikam.org/news/2021-03-22-7.2.0_release_announcement/

Can you reproduce the dysfunction with this version ?

Thanks in advance for your feedback

Not reproducible with 7.3.0 pre-release installer. Closed
