SUMMARY
Kubuntu upgrade DESTROYS functioning nvidia driver

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. upgrade kubuntu kernel and mesa drivers
2. reboot
3. watch system crash
4. system setting cannot change driver (useless)

OBSERVED RESULT
wrong driver installed, system settings says correct driver is installed. Info says something different

EXPECTED RESULT
system settings can update drivers
info and system settings match

 Yes, sorry about that. At first it looked like a systemsettings error but after poking around, the upgrade was handled very poorly and caused multiple problems on my end.
I have decided to quit Kubuntu and KDE. I shall not use them. Broken systems that do not work together.Thanks
