I had this happen to me last week when I restarted KWin with `kwin_x11 --replace`. Now I can't reproduce it by doing that though. I have the same exact problem. I was able to reproduce on another machine by running an old X11 utility (editres), of course as a normal user. Now I'm stuck with the cursor reverting to a default, as shown in the picture. One of the machines affected has the following configuration: Operating System: Gentoo Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.67.0 Qt Version: 5.13.2 Kernel Version: 4.19.97-gentoo OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 8 × AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor Memory: 15.7 GiB of RAM Creating a file named ~/.icons/default/index theme containing [Icon Theme] Inherits=breeze_cursors and symlinking /usr/share/icons/breeze_cursors/cursors to ~/.icons/default/cursors seems to temporarily fix the issue, as a workaround, but the problem is that the inherited cursor now becomes the default to revert to (i.e. it persists on the desktop if you change the cursor from Plasma's System Settings application). The problem also seems to persist if I create a fresh user and log in with Plasma for the first time. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 420872 *** |
