SUMMARY
Since upgrading to 19.12 on Arch Linux, scrolling horizontally with the mousewheel (in compact view) is broken

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. When a horizontal scrollbar is visible, scroll the mousewheel

OBSERVED RESULT
Doesn't scroll

EXPECTED RESULT
Scrolling as in previous versions of Dolphin

Same here - also using Arch Linux.

Using the touchpad of the Laptop, I'am able to scroll horizontally. But not with the mousewheel.

Scrolling horizontally using a mousewheel requires holding down the Alt key while turning the wheel. It's this way in all Qt and KDE software.

Was there a change in Frameworks or QT lately?
Because on my other machine, thats not quite up2date, horizontal scrolling in Dolphin works without pressing the Alt key.

The only difference in Versions is:
Frameworks: 5.64.0
QT: 5.13.2

Not to my knowledge. Can you clarify *where* in Dolphin you are scrolling horizontally? The places panel? The main view? If so, what view mode are you using? Details, icons, or compact?

Compact view mode in the main view - just as the issue opener described.
In the other view modes, the content is aligned in a downward fashion, so horizontal scrolling is not required.

Weird, this works fine for me when using Compact mode with Dolphin from 19.12 or git master, with Qt 5.13.1. A regular scroll goes horizontally without needing to hold down the Alt key.

I wonder if this is a Qt 5.14 regression.

I can confirm that it's broken with Dolphin 19.12 + Qt 5.14.0, but works with Dolphin 19.12 + Qt 5.13.1. So likely a change/bug in Qt indeed.

Not a dolphin bug. All Qt apps seems to be affected.

Horizontal scroll wheel (if you have one) works thought.
