- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Dragged 'Network Monitor' widget from widget install menu to desktop.  Plasma segfaulted; applications running (Dolphin, Kate) were unaffected.  Widget was not installed.
- Unusual behavior I noticed:
Subsequent attempt to install Network Monitor widget was successful

This is a very recent reinstall of KDE Neon. In order to make Plasma work at all I had to back up .config and create a new empty one, so I don't think the cause can be a configuration hangover from previous versions.
