SUMMARY
Display resolution degraded to VGA 640 x 480 after recent update.  Was only able to restore resolution by deleting files in ~/.local/share/kscreen/.  This fixed the problem which was not repeated when I created a new user.
There remains an underlying issue because System Settings> Display and Monitor> show Screen Locker Settings and that is all.  The same settings on a new user show three choices: Displays, Compositor and Gamma.  Displays shows my preferred 1920 x 1080 resolution.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Could not reproduce.  The problem started after an update and was only solved by deleting kscreen.  It has not reappeared but I cannot restore the correct Display screen

Thank you for the bug report. Unfortunately we were not able to get to it yet. Can we ask you to please check if this is still an issue with Plasma 5.25 or 5.26?

If it is, please change the status to CONFIRMED when replying. If not, or if you can't because you no longer use this setup, you can change the status to RESOLVED WORKSFORME. Thanks a lot!
