What's so unprofessional about it?
The bouncy cursor is rather old and kind of a symbol for the kde desktop. I don't know when it got introduced, but was definitely already present in 3.x. That's kind of a reason to keep it as it is. On the other hand a breeze-ification would probably not hurt if the bouncy is still available. +1, I'm fine with it remaining an option.
