Description NiLuJe 2018-12-15 17:33:34 UTC
SUMMARY

Unable to properly make use of Backtab shell bindings in Yakuake since Konsole 18.12.0.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Upgrade to Konsole 18.12.0
2. Launch Yakuake
3. Try to use a shell feature bound to Backtab (Shift+Tab) (in my case, ZSH's history completion).

OBSERVED RESULT

Shift+Tab now appears to lose focus (cursor stops blinking/colors are dimmed when those settings are enabled) and does not get propagated to the shell.

EXPECTED RESULT

Shift+Tab properly gets propagated to the shell ;).

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: N/A
MacOS: n/A
Linux/KDE Plasma: Gentoo Linux
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.53.0
Qt Version: 5.11.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This works perfectly fine in Konsole proper.
Downgrading Konsole (and only Konsole) to 18.08.3 unbreaks it, which is what lead me to tag this Konsole/Kpart vs. Yakuake, but the Yakuake guys should probably be made aware of this ;).

This is still happening with Konsole 19.04.0, Frameworks 5.57.0, Plasma 5.15.4 & Qt 5.12.2

With a few things to note:

In Konsole, I obviously had to disable the "Next View Container" shortcut, because it defaults to Shift+Tab ;).

In Yakuake, Ctrl+Shift+Tab behaves as Shift+Tab ought to.
This isn't the case in Konsole, where Shift+Tab does still work, once the conflicting shortcut is gone, but Ctrl+Shift+Tab does not.

I have seemingly related problem.

I've been using Shift+Tab as a shortcut for "Next Session" action. Starting from KDE Applications 19.04.0 / KF 5.57 pressing Shift+Tab in Yakuake causes "ambigious shortcut" warning.

I checked all Global Shortcuts for Shift+Tab entry and found none. I also removed Shift+Tab binding in Konsole, but that didn't help.

Just to confirm that the 19.08.0 release of Konsole has indeed fixed it ;).

Thanks!
