Screenshot of the monitor popup

SUMMARY

Plasma shows the monitor popup after login when using multiple monitors.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have multiple monitors connected before booting
2. Login to Plasma through SDDM

EXPECTED RESULT

Plasma should not display the popup because the monitors were already attached before booting.

ACTUAL RESULT

Plasma shows the popup. (see attachement)

SOFTWARE VERSIONS

KDE Plasma Version: 5.13.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.50.0
Qt Version: 5.11.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Using three monitors (DP@1920x1200 + HDMI@1920x1080 + DP@1920x1200) on GTX 1060 6GB with nvidia driver version 396.54. Setting up the monitors in nvidia-settings and saving to Xorg config makes no difference.

Daniel, could you take a look at this?
Comment 2 Sven Mauch 2018-10-01 14:41:39 UTC
I just remembered a tiny but possibly related detail: KScreen did not remember my monitor setup (for example how they are ordered) and would mix them up after every reboot. This is of course no longer a problem for me since I just pushed it to my X11 config through nvidia-settings but here's a similar bug report in which the monitor popup shows after forgetting settings: bug 398816

Maybe this one is even a duplicate?
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2018-10-01 14:49:21 UTC
If it's actually forgetting the settings, then yes, this is a duplicate of Bug 398816. Thanks!
