Just received a sw update, and the login is back to qwerty :-) So I changed /usr/share/sddm/scripts/Xsetup again, and made it read only. I hope this does not disturb apt-get or dpkg update processes in the future. From the Arch wiki it seems this should be set by a command and kept in /etc so it's not wiped by system updates: "SDDM loads the keyboard layout specified in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/00-keyboard.conf. You can generate this configuration file by localectl set-x11-keymap command." Can you please test and confirm if this issue is still occurring or if this bug report can be marked as resolved. I've set the bug status to "needsinfo" pending your response, please change back to "reported" or "resolved" when you respond, thanks. In the mean time, I don't use KDE Neon anymore, as I purchased a new laptop (Asus TUF A17 gaming), and KDE Neon, does not work on it because it does not support the recent hardware of this laptop. Manjaro (and probably also Arch) seems to be the only distro that runs well on my new laptop. I tried KDE Neon, Kubuntu, Ubuntu, Fedora and Suse (rolling) and all have issues with hardware support (mainly AMD/NVIDIA graphics and keyboard illumination). Also back in 2018, Manjaro did not have this bug, and it is not present in the current Manjaro version, so I am unable to test it, because my old laptop is broken. Thanks for the update Marc. I'm going to mark this as resolved as there's no way to test it as you mentioned. Please open a new bug report if you have any issues in the future, thanks. |
