App menu tooltip bug
This bug is still present in KDE Neon 5.23 / KDE 5.23.3 / Framework 5.88.0. As the initial report is quite brief, here a more detailed description to reproduce the issue: ## Observed behavior When quickly clicking the application menu button in the window title bar *before* the button tooltip pops up, the menu will open first and *then* the tooltip pops up, covering parts of the application menu. For an example, please refer to the attached screenshot. ## Expected behavior The tooltip should not open after the button has already been pressed. ## Steps to reproduce 1. Go to System Settings -> Appearance -> Window Decorations -> Tab "Titlebar Buttons". Add the "Application menu" button in the titlebar. Also tick the checkbox "Show titlebar button tooltips". 2. Open a KDE application, e.g. Konsole. 3. In Konsole, quickly hover and the cursor over the application menu button in the titlebar, and click to open the menu. Make sure to click *before* the tooltip appears. 4. The menu opens, then the tooltip saying "Application menu" appears above the actual menu, partly hiding its entries. hello, is also visible in plasma 5.23.5 |
Created attachment 114680 [details] Tooltip issue This is not a bug but rather a usability issue. During normal interaction when opening menu popup using a button in titlebar most of the time tooltip of this button will cover opened menu. This is very annoying when needed menu items are covered. Be great if this popup would not appear when menu is opened.
