Thanks for your message. I'm not really sure what you are doing. Are you saying that opening a specific image works fine when it is located in a particular directory, but crashes Gwenview when it is located in another directory? What do you mean exactly with "changing home directory"? As for the crash, please install debugging symbols and resubmit the backtrace (see https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports). Lastly: > Could not get a valid KFileMetaInfo instance That string has been removed from Gwenview's source for version 17.04 with https://phabricator.kde.org/R260:047bc063ec5c21f3bed9fcdc6667892efe6dd8db. I don't know it this is related, but in any case you should try to reproduce the problem with a recent version of Gwenview, e.g. 17.12.3 as found in Kubuntu 18.04. To further investigate this issue, KDE developers need the information requested in comment #1. If you can provide it, or need help with finding that information, please add a comment.
