Description Shinjo Park 2018-06-25 14:33:59 UTC
Trying to input Korean text via any input method (I'm using fcitx here) for remote keyboard input is not working at all. I doubt any language via IM module is not appearing at all.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open any Android app and set Android's IM to "KDE Connect Remote Keyboard".
2. Launch KDE Connect Plasma applet and enter any Korean text.
3. The entered text is not appearing on the Android.

Workaround: enter the text elsewhere and copy-paste it.

Version:
Android: 1.8.4 from Google Play
Desktop: kdeconnect 1.3.0 from Ubuntu 18.04

I think it is possibly related to the bug #365305.

Can confirm this with Japanese text. I'm also using fcitx.
Looks like IME is not working at all currently.

Same problem with Chinese text, it seems that it could not recognize text from ime

Does this problem exist with KDE Connect on Windows?
Since you mentioned that the workaround is typed elsewhere and then copied and pasted into the input box, this may be related to the KDE Connect Applet on Linux, not KDE Connect Android.
