This makes window management difficult.
I use a complex tag hierarchy and am therefore now looking for an alternative to digikam.

The tags manager has always open a separate windows since a while. This is not new. The tags manager work as Firefox bookmarks editor, in a separate windows, as the function is to group all features about Tags.

You can always manage the tags tree view from right and left sidebar from album gui.
