Well, from my experience with Dolphin I came to conclusion that current search bar is unreliable.
With solid state drives being standard it doesn't take long to find something even without a file index.

My proposal is to implement KFind as an alternative to Baloo. Preferably available from dolphin settings.

It's not a duplicate, this person wants to open kfind instance by clicking icon on toolbar. What I am proposing is an option to replace baloo with kfind.

opposition against such an obviously great feature has died down in 2020. finally, progress is on its march. more retarding impetus to come!
