I only get a black screen with the cursor visible in the middle. This happened after those two issues https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390983 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390982

What may be the cause is that I installed kio-extras. I purged it from tty and rebooted but it's not fixed. I don't know what else may cause the problem.

please help. I need to get moving with my work.

I also need to mention that the laptop now isn't connected to the internet

Okay I connected to the internet using ifconfig, then did sudo apt update and that fixed it.

apparently somehow my system had some old qt packages and some new qt packages. I got help on IRC freenode #kde-neon. Thanks
