There's a ScanDone signal nowadays that could be used. I've just tested this and cannot reproduce, it appears the network manager is already populated as the popup opens. *** Bug 421370 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** As I mentioned in bug #406160, it is very annoying for the wifi list to repopulate itself as you're about to click connect on a VPN. Personally I hate when stuff reloads on its own and would prefer this behavior replaced by a manual refresh button, but alternatively having some indication that the list is being refreshed would at least let me know that I need to wait. Bulk transfer as requested in T17796 As its already stated, its REALLY annoying, when list of networks refreshed just before the click. And it happens quite often to be noticeable and frustrating. Unexpected changes of input elements under the cursor is bad, and should be avoided. Just look how chrome did that with tab lists: tabs will never be expanded/rearranged, if mouse cursor in that area. Any changes are happening either as a result of explicit user actions, or when cursor is away from that. Even a notification of "list will be rearranged soon" would be helpful to avoid misclicks. Like, for example, in plasma 6.3 notification popups have small timer bar, which shows when popup will close. It would be nice and consistent, if networkmanager applet will show similar timer bar before refreshing the connections list. This has been implemented in Plasma 6.5. Cant notice any difference in Plasma 6.5.2: networks list in networkmanager app still updates suddenly, without any warning, rearranging llist while cursor is on it. KDE Plasma 6.5.3 still does that, no improvements yet. Maybe this bug should be reopened? That sounds like a different issue from the one that was originally reported, which was about the widget popup being literally empty while refreshing.
