There is now an option to show the source timecode so this shouldn't be hard to add this feature. 3+ years later... still waiting for this feature, I also need a way to add the file's original date AND time of record. I got a video back in 2018.01.08, starting at 08:34:36, there's no way to do this at the moment... timeframe just simply counts from 00:00:00 as the video starts.. filedate only reads the date, but not the H:M:S.. You need to contact the dev team behind the MLT Framework. They are the ones providing the Dynamic Text filter/effect and determine what can be displayed and how.
