Did you configure it to suspend when you close the lid in powermanagement settings? (should be the default, though) Yes I did For information, pressing the power button (also set to suspend) does not work either. I read it might be a kernel bug - but for information I am on 4.4.0-112-generic Can you check whether other buttons like power key are also affected? If so, this is a known bug.
