Just tested with 17.12.0 AppImage - same result. (In reply to iGadget from comment #1) > Just tested with 17.12.0 AppImage - same result. Apparently this was a pre-17.12.0 version. Tested again with the 'official' 17.12.0, but the problem remains. Recently I had a similar problem that was related to a KDE bug. But this one I think is related to audio. Can you try this? When you see high CPU usage, go to: Settings > Playback > Audio Driver and change it to something else, like ALSA (It defaults to Automatic) and click Apply or OK. Does it stop High CPU usage? Hi. I also noticed a high CPU usage on idle in all Kdenlive AppImages. I was able to pinpoint it to the SDL/Alsa pipeline. Adding Pulseaudio to the AppImage build did fix the problem for me. I am uploading an updated AppImage (17.12.0b) that contains this fix. Can you test if this solves the CPU usage for you and if sound still works correctly ? Yes, 17.12.0b doesn't have the problem any more. Checked on 2 separate systems. Great job guys! Any work left for this ticket? No response, assuming it is fixed. |
