I noticed it happens when the machine has a non short uptime, for example more than 4 days. I don't recall having experienced it on Intel based VGAs (In reply to Germano Massullo from comment #1) > I noticed it happens when the machine has a non short uptime, for example > more than 4 days. > I don't recall having experienced it on Intel based VGAs Forget it. It happens even with a few uptime hours. Please tell me if I can retrieve some useful infos Hmm can you narrow down if this happens with only specific apps? It looks like a window being shown/hidden very fast. (In reply to Eike Hein from comment #3) > Hmm can you narrow down if this happens with only specific apps? It looks > like a window being shown/hidden very fast. It looks like most of the problems are triggered by amarok-2.8.90-11.fc26.x86_64 . I am experiencing the same problems even if Amarok is on tray icon only Are you using any Amarok functionality or plugins that could be rapidly opening and closing a window? (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #7) > Are you using any Amarok functionality or plugins that could be rapidly > opening and closing a window? No I haven't changed Amarok configuration in last 3-4 years. But since I have upgraded to Plasma 5.11 I no longer had this problem, so let me use the system for some other days to check if the problem will happen again Fantastic, after those few days of observation please close this bug or return it to the UNCONFIRMED state. Thanks! Still have not experienced the bug in Plasma 5.11. I am closing the bugreport, I will reopen it in case it will happen again Excellent, thanks again. Sadly I started experiencing the bug also on 5.11.3 In my humble opinion this is part of a bigger problem of amdgpu video drivers Black intermittent quirks/corrupted user view on KDE Plasma with latest Mesa https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1421353 Firefox quirks (black and/or white squares) https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104216 As quickly said in Freedesktop bug, soon I will make various tests with old Mesa and Mesa 18, and I will let you know as soon as possible Luckly I am no longer experiencing this problem I have noticed the problem again in 5.12.5 version, triggered by many different applications, for example Amarok, KTorrrent, etc. experiencing the problem even with GTK applications like Libreoffice. Is there anything I can do to retrieve any kind of useful infos? Very strange. Is it still happening in Plasma 5.19 for you?
