This appears to have the same effect as bug 353005 but the cause does not appear to be the same.

Choosing Configure Rekonq... | Search Engines displays:
The module could not be found
The diagnosis is:
The desktop file could not be found

Search engines that are already configured continue to work as expected

Following the suggestion in bug 353005 I checked the installed packages but all applicable rekonq and konqueror packages are installed

To reproduce: Open the Search Engines configuration dialog

Expected result: A list of search engines to configure

Development on Rekonq ceased four years ago, and it has been unmaintained since then. KDE recommends using Falkon instead.
