It's not clear what you're asking for. Can you be more specific? I suggest to autoscale the items in the places menu, by shifting the width of it. KDialog does it so. Hmm, that doesn't help much. Perhaps some screenshots and mockups of your proposal would help. People are annoyed by the autoscaling of icon size in the file dialog places panel, so it certainly should be optional. See bug 182089. This is weird. In this bug, someone asks to implement automatic panel icon resizing. But in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=182089, people complain about it! So which is it? Is this feature implemented or not? FWIW in an up-to-date Neon VM, my save and open dialogs both use small, un-resizable icons and don't ever seem to get bigger no matter how I resize the dialogs. Very easy: Make it optional. Yes, but the question remains: is this currently implemented or not? In an up to date KaOS installation, it works still. Nate, the Dolphin places panel is different from the kio/kfile places panel. If this is implemented I hope it is an option that can be turned on, rather than default. This is now available in Dolphin 22.04 with the port to kflieplacesview, which has that feature. |
