Since the problem happened after an update from your distribution, please address this to our distribution, we didn't change anything on our side. This is likely to be a mix up with Qt4 and Qt5 libraries. FWIW: you will need to install debugging symbols for the backtrace to be useful, and the problem is clearly with the vlc backend, not with Amarok I also have the same issue. It started after the most recent distribtion updates. amarok (2.8.0) on KDE Platform 4.14.30 using Qt 4.8.6
It always crashes on start since system was update.
