every time I try to create a new document, Krita crashes. I've had no problems using it on other computers, but Krita does not work on my laptop.

Hi Lauren,

Logically, if Krita works on your other systems, but not on the laptop, there must be something up with the laptop...

Have you checked whether disabling opengl makes a difference (https://docs.krita.org/KritaFAQ#Krita_starts_with_a_black_or_blank_canvas_and_nothing_changes_when_you_try_to_draw.2Fshows_a_black_or_blank_screen_on_my_Windows_system_with_an_Intel_GPU)
