Can you run plasmashell from console and paste its output here? (btw don't run kquitapp with sudo, it needs to be run as your user to find the dbus service on your session bus) and fyi, don't use 'sudo' with kquitapp (sorry, I missed the mention of that already) Created attachment 104845 [details]

I attached the output of running plasmashell after using kquitapp to stop it. I don't suppose this happened again on subsequent upgrades?
