Nice idea. Are you interested in working on that, perhaps? Unfortunately not, as I'm just a lowly user with no spare time (except to report wishes and bugs). No problem, thanks! :) Sounds like you would be better off just navigating to ~/Desktop in Dolphin and using its own built-in filter feature. I have numerous folder widgets in my panel with a lot of files, and it's way faster to pop it open and find a file by filtering than navigating to dolphin, opening the file, potentially moving the window to the correct virtual desktop, etc. One more thought: klipper and the wifi widget both have a nice search bar in the header. Would be nice to see this coem to the folder widget for filtering files. I can see the utility for the widget version. Less so for the desktop containment version. :) I somehow had not even thought about the desktop version! Can a widget possess a certain property on the desktop but not the panel? Yep. :) |
