Yeah, that would be great! I have to admit that until recently I didn't know about digicam (Windows user). I was looking for a good open source photo manager to manage, small photo editions, easy masive tagging... ... and with a decent facial recognition software. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised, the only thing I miss for now is, effectively, a photosphere viewer. +1 for native 360º viewer, maybe with different projections options +1. Also want this feature. Maik, This file can be proposed in the future as a new GoSC project for students. Gilles *** Bug 466593 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I just migrated to digiKam and a native 360º viewer looks like one of the last pieces to make it a perfect solution for photo management/viewing. I'd also like to view photospheres / equirectangular images. On Linux, the only way I've found to view them is https://www.fsoft.it/FSPViewer/ - which is free but not Open Source. There's also https://pannellum.org/ - which is web / JS based. I'm not sure if either of them can be easily integrated into DigiKam though. Is there a way to set an external program as a viewer only for a specific type of file? If this kind of format is registered in the desktop tpye-mime database to open a specific application, this will be available in Open-With context menu. (In reply to caulier.gilles from comment #8) > If this kind of format is registered in the desktop tpye-mime database to They're just .jpg files. They have an EXIF tag which says that they're a panoramic image. I don't think there's a way to open files in a different app based on the EXIF contents - but very happy to be proved wrong. +1 digikam has been my preferred image organizer for some time now. A spherical viewer would complete the product for me. If there is no dedicated viewer, then at least there should be the option to select the “Spherical Viewer” (Mac) via “Open with.” Unfortunately, this is not available there, even though it is installed. |
