This is configurable as shown in the link. To reiterate: open ~/.config/kwinrc in a text editor, add the following: [ModifierOnlyShortcuts] Meta= -- At the moment we do not have any plans to expose this through a GUI interface. So why is this different from regular keys (from a user point of perspective, not the technically one)? Typically, KDE allows the configuration of shortcuts and it is nice to have them adjustable. The meta key is also destructive in games, when you accidentally hit the meta key and the whole game minimizes. -> i would like to keep this bug open as a wish... sorry gui is currently not planed. We cannot merge it together with "normal" global shortcuts as they are implemented technically different. At the moment we don't plan to add a gui for it.
