missing translation of the menu "new" (german: "Neu"), "load" (german: "Laden") and "hint" (german: "Hinweis"), also the german hints are missing:

Start a new game            Starte ein neues Spiel
Open a saved game...     Lade ein gespeichertes Spiel...
Save the current game   Aktuelles Spiel speichern

These translations come from libkdegames.
What's your version of kmahjongg, libkdegames and what distro are you using?

libkdegames: 15.12.3-17.4
libkdegames4: 14.12.3-2.10
libkdegames6: 14.12.3-2.10

I'm using openSuse 42.1

Hmm, not sure about the versions from opensuse. 
The translations should be in the
    kde-l10n-de
or
    kde4-l10n-de
package.
KMahjongg 0.8 is the pre-KF5 version, so libkdegames from KDE 4 is used.

Please ask your opensuse packagers for advice.

https://i18n.debian.org/l10n-pkg-status/libk/libkdegames.html says it's fully translated for language "de". If you still see english text for KMahjongg, please ask for help in a forum of your distribution.
